Hey, Beauties! Have you seen the self-care challenge in our MoxieCare Facebook Group yet? In the conversation, we had the opportunity to share some tips and tricks for taking care of yourself during this season of social distancing, isolation, and beyond. The conclusion- taking those moments to care and check-in with yourself are more critical than ever before! So, in an effort to stay healthy, happy, and sane, our MoxieLash team is sharing their personal favorite tips, routines, and ways that we are "taking care" of ourselves at this very moment.

Self-Care tips to keep yourself mentally and physically strong during social distancing.

Self-Care Tip #1: Drink lots and lots and lots of water.

"Sometimes...when I feel stressed and overwhelmed...I forget to hydrate myself, which is so bad because it has been scientifically proven that dehydration can cause and add to stress. In other words, dehydration causes stress and stress causes dehydration. Our bodies NEED water to function! Did you know that our brains are about 73% water? I know right? It's amazing! Not only is water a vital nutrient to life and aids the body in flushing out toxins (which means better skin, so yes please!), but it literally has the power to reduce stress hormones! We are all in this together, so let's be kind to our bodies and give it what it needs- Water."

Self-Care Tip #2: Rejuvenate your body and mind with an Epsom Salt bath.

"I absolutely love taking baths! I mean honestly, is there anything better than taking a hot bath at the end of a long day? There is something so revitalizing and comforting about slowing down for a moment and giving yourself the time to relax. Whenever I feel anxious, I turn on some music, take a bath, collect my thoughts, and change my perspective. My current thing during this crazy season has been Epsom Salt baths. Epsom Salt helps relax muscles, headaches, and migraines. It also helps to reduce inflammation in the body. So do your thing! It's going to be okay. You are strong and courageous, and you've got this! Light a candle, have a glass of wine, read a book, watch a show, and get soaking!" - Kendra (The Content Queen)

Self-Care Tip #3: Do some breathing exercises and practice meditation.

Moxie Self Care Specialist Tip: "For me, it's always been about perspective and mindset. We're in uncharted territory, and there's so much we can't control right now. So, my mindset has been to engage and exercise all my energy into the things I can control. I'm waking up early every day with a plan, staying proactive, productive, and sticking to my work routine. The only difference now is that my home is my office, my gym, my studio, etc... Time management is really important during these times and I think we can all benefit from utilizing this free time productively. Work on that business plan! Work on that passion project you've never had time for! Read that book that has been collecting dust on your shelf! Take an online class! Start that podcast! Work on yourself both personally and professionally." - Natt (The Social Queen)

Self-Care Tip #4: In the morning, put yourself first. Put your mask on before you assist others.

"In the morning, the first thing I do when I wake up is look at myself in the mirror and say, 'You've got this today! Today is yours, so step out (in this case I am stepping out around my house) and conquer. You were created to do wonderful things!' I encourage you guys to do the same! Tell yourself the truth in the morning. You are beautiful, smart, creative, and so much more! You can do anything you set your mind to. If YOUR heart and soul is full, and you are making sure you are taking the time to love yourself, then you will have the capacity to love and take care of others. Whenever you have a negative thought about yourself or those around you, try and replace it with two positive things. Get in the habit of seeing the good in the things and people around you. It is something that I am continually practicing and constantly trying to remind myself of. We are all in this together. I know that we are all going to come out on the other side so much stronger than we were before. I believe in you! Let's go conquer the day." - Ashley (The Marketing Magician)

Self-Care Tip #5: Take the time to try something new or do something you love!

"During this time of isolation and social distancing, I have been seeing a lot of people pick up new hobbies or invest tons of time into the things they already love. People have been taking up bread making, getting super involved in fitness, writing and journaling, and so much more. It's amazing! I think that it is so important to utilize this time and actually accomplish things you have always wanted to do. Get creative! If you are bored, try something new because there really is no time like the present. Sure, sometimes it is difficult to get motivated, but in the end, it will all be worth it. Recently, I have been practicing '5 for 5.' I have been calling five people for five minutes every day. And it has been wonderful! I feel so connected to my friends and family and I definitely encourage you to do the same. Let's not let the day go to waste by wishing it was different. Let's take care of ourselves and continue to make an effort to stay connected to our community and ourselves. Love you guys!" - Anne (The Video Vixen)
